Internews in Moldova and National Geographic Society invite you to a meet-up about cultivating empathy and understanding through visual storytelling.
The photographer and filmmaker Matt Moyer (http://www.mattmoyer.com/) will share his experience in an open event in Chisinau, talking about his National Geographic experience, the passion that drives his work and the efforts of cultivating empathy and understanding through photography, whether it’s documenting the lives of people facing injustice or diverse community’s cultural ties.
Matt Moyer will also talk about National Geographic Photo Camps, where young people from diverse communities, including at-risk and young refugees, learn how to use photography to tell their own stories, explore the world around them, and develop deep connections with others.
This event will kick off the National Geographic Photo Camp in Comrat (May 15-19, 2023), which will be the second one organized within USAID and UK funded project “Media Enabling Democracy, Inclusion and Accountability in Moldova” (MEDIA-M) and implemented by Internews in Moldova. The program aims to promote the development of an independent, professional media, and to create a media sector that is more resilient to political and financial pressures.
